Pion Design - Christmas Notes

Hello Everyone!

Today I've put together this vintage Christmas card using all sorts of beautiful Pion Design collections. These papers are so versatile, any collection can be used for any occasion! I've used "To My Valentine", "The Witching Hour", "The Night Before Christmas", "Long Ago in Bethlehem", and "Christmas Wishes". It's like these papers were meant to be used together!

The striped ribbon is Canvas Corp Brands, the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts, the wood leaf flourish is Southern Ridge Trading Company, and everything else is from my stash.

So my house is all decorated for Christmas! YAY!! We finally found a Christmas tree that fits our dining room space. We got 7 foot tall, slim, flocked tree and it is so beautiful! We've decorated in white, crystal and white gold. I couldn't get a shot of the whole tree, so I'm just going to share some close ups of a few of the decorations.

I couldn't possibly sleep tonight if I left this post wildlife-less, so here's a cutie patootie photo of my best bud Crazy Karen showing us that winning smile that I fell in love with!! OMG, how cute is she!

So as you can see, I decorate fairly early in the year. When do you put up your tree?

***
I think I made some of you nervous with my wildlife food list last post. Just want to clarify about squirrels and peanuts. By all means, throw some peanuts out to the squirrels. They love them so much, and as long as they are getting proper food from other sources, then they'll be fine. Many people have backyard squirrels that rely on the food set out for them as as their main food source, this is when it becomes a health issue for them. Just like kids and a bag of chips or a chocolate bar, it's ok for them have a some now and again, as long as it's not the only thing they eat. If your worried, toss in a few mixed nuts the odd time, they love those too!

Thank you to everyone who takes the time and money to feed the animals, you make my heart soar!

Your decorations are gorgeous, the whole tree must look amazing! Haven't even thought about a tree yet, we like to have a fairly large real tree so it takes up a lot of space and we have a very large dog who takes up a lot of space...and wags her tail...need I say more!
Lovely photo of Karen and her beautiful smile!

Your tree must look awesome. The decorations are so beautiful! We usually don't put our trees (we have two small ones in different parts of the house) up until December, but they don't look anywhere near as spectacular as yours. Still, we do love them and can't wait to see them up again.
Love, love, love the photo of your sweet Crazy Karen .. she is gorgeous!!! Have a wonderful day! hugs xx

  5. What a marvelous combination of papers, embellies, and textures, Pamellia. What fascinates me is the manner in which you bring Nature into all of your creations. This one reveals both the "waiting period" and "snowy purity" of Old Man Winter. It reminds me of the Wintry season in our own heart's growth as well - and those times our bodies seem to "die" a bit from the summers of our lives. Interesting that Crazy Karen color coordinates with your Christmas tree! I love that you even have seashells in yours! I imagine we have a similar trees these days - as we donated our huge tree for one that is slim and 7' tall. We'll be decorating next week. Or should I say, this week as today is Sunday. Have a lovely season of celebrations, Pamellia. xx

  6. Such a lovely wintery look to your card. I so much enjoy the change of seasons. Your so magical with your designs, kind of a whimsical flair to the creations. I've started with some Christmas decor. After Thanksgiving all of fall will be put away, I do something in every room, now in a smaller house so it's a tricky thing.Your tree is luscious. I love what you 've done with decorating it. Very rich looking. Have fun with finishing up and then ENJOY it all. Don't you wish sometimes the little animals could come in for a visit? They have a personality all their own and the more attention they get, the more they respond. Enjoy a wonderful Sunday.

We usually have our Christmas tree beginning of December, my boys and my niece love to decorate the tree is so exiting. I have squirrels in my garden and this afternoon one of the squirrel was running around with an acorn, she tried to find a place to hide the acorn in the grass for later. Your photo of the squirrel is wonderful, love it. xx

  15. Can I come to your house? Oh my gosh, your tree looks fabulous! I can imagine sitting there at night with just the tree lights on. I am planning on putting up our tree this Friday. Thanksgiving is Thursday here in the States so that usually signals the decorating time for me. Let me not forget your card! I do wish blogging had the capability of letting us reach in and touch these cards or at least view them in 3D. I so love looking at all the incredible little touches of detail you put into your creations. Love this card! Crazy Karen is adorable--I was just sharing your photos of her and the other furry friends from your last post with my mother. I always look forward so much to your posts. Hugs.

  17. Oh wow, what an absolutely stunning card, Pamellia!! You mix and match papers together so perfectly!! I love all of the rustic touches and the spectacular layers!! Every one of your cards is a work of art!! The details you added are so gorgeous!! I love the bow and the pom poms!! Love, love this!! So beautiful!!

Oh wow, I love your tree!! It's shabby chic!! I want it!! Mine is a boring regular tree with multi-colored lights and I put it up three days ago :) I love sitting in a dark room with the only lights coming from the tree :) Never too early to put one up, in my opinion!! However, I have to take it down right after Christmas...it's too depressing to leave it up longer since the holiday is over ;) That is the most adorable picture of Crazy Karen!! Her smile is priceless!! I hope you have a wonderful week, dear friend!! It was in the 60's yesterday and down to the 20's today so the hugs I'm sending your way are chilly ones :)

  22. A lovely rectangle shape to your card Pamellia! your beautiful layers and snow and threads of cheesecloth add such texture and dimension - I can just imagine how glorious your tree is in full view - since each snippet here is a wonder! Kent and I feed our neighborhood birds and squirrels all year round - we get such enjoyment in watching them - we also heat our bird bath so they can have water year round!
