Sometimes a happy accident in photography is just as rewarding as a happy accident in crafting. I saw this sweet Cardinal playing in the grass, but there was a fallen tree between the two of us. I knew if I stepped over the tree, I would scare him off, so I laid down over the log sideways with my head resting on the ground and the camera was at an odd angle. I just figured I would just rotate the photos in post, but it turned out, he was bent sideways as well, making for a super unique photo!

One of my favourite parts of the day is Chickadee feeding time. In the afternoon the Chickadees will perch on the edge of the patio and sing to let me know that they're hungry. I step outside with their treats and they fly to my hands. What a great feeling!

"Sorry Miss, but I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to show myself yet. I'm having a bit of a bad hair day you see!"
~Mr Blue Jay~

"Go away, I'm trying to sleep!"
~Miss Swan~

"Really with the click click click! I'm trying to play hide and seek here, and you're gonna give away my position!"

"Oooooo, if you have what I think you have in that bag of yours, then welcome to my territory!"
~a trail friend~

"I'm confused, you moved the food bowl again. Are you playing games with me, human!"
~Rocky~

"Do you ever get the feeling like you just stepped into a magical forest!"
~a trail friend~

"The idea that some lives matter less, is the root of all that is wrong with the world."
~Dr. Paul Farmer & my best bud Crazy Karen~

It's been a while since I attached the macro lens to my camera. This is one of the flowers I planted this year. There was no tag on it, so I don't know what type of plant it is. You should zoom in on the stamen centre, so cool!!!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.

There are so many birds on my photography wish list, and I get so excited when I get to see something new out on my hikes, but my world wouldn't be the same without the familiar sounds of these amazing Sparrows. I missed them so much during construction time and I'm glad to have them back keeping me company and making my patio a more enjoyable place!

I don't normally take shots in the high contrast created by sun and shadows, but I just couldn't resist the beauty of this Blue Jay enjoying the sunrise!

"What can I say, I don't have an air conditioner!" ~Mrs Mallard~
(ducks stand on one leg to help control body temperature)

"I'm thinking the coast is clear, let's get the heck outta here!"
~Baby Raccoons~

"If the thrill of hunting were in the hunt, or even in the marksmanship, a camera would do just as well."
~Jonathan Safran Foer~

"HOLY CANNELLONI! Did I hear the words homemade cookies? Count me in!"
~Crazy Karen~ my best bud

"Oh crap, you caught me! Just back away slowly because I'm still taking the cookie!"
~Squiggy~

"Oh this peanut? This is nothing. Last week I found a peanut, and it was THIS BIG!"
~a trail friend~

"Yuuuuuck! You tricked me! There's vegetables in those cookies!"
~Tippy~

Continuing with my patio redesign, today I would like to show you the way my patio looks right now. There is still some work to be done, and I am constantly finding little changes that need to be made, but for the most part I have a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the outdoors.

The lattice makes such a beautiful pattern on the floor when the sun shines through the sides, and when the sun is at it's peak, the corrugated roofing creates a pattern that looks like the bottom of a pool, it is so amazing!

My shelf is lined with planter boxes and there are four feeding dishes and a water dish set out. I thumb-tacked them to the wood, so they won't get knocked off the ledge.

I am so in love with my fountain. It is such a relaxing sound and I hardly ever shut it off unless it's raining out!

As you can see, there is almost always a bird or a squirrel hanging around in the 'garden'. This is Teddy popping in to photobomb me as I take my garden shots!

I installed these shelves to create a staircase for the squirrels to get down onto the floor. Each shelf has a little dish full of goodies. The top shelf is where the corn station is, and the floor has some stumps for them to jump on.

My new chair set is so amazing for reading, but I still have to buy some nice new cushions. These green ones are so old and faded and full of holes.

My beautiful Dahlia, when it blooms! You can see the old couch in the back, we also need to replace it with the matching piece to the chair set, but that will have to wait until next year.

The Majesty Palm that I first placed here died because we had a cold snap, so I have replaced it with this gorgeous Dracaena Corn Plant, which I like better anyway!

I thought I should include a few shots of my wonderful squirrels enjoying the new patio garden...

"Oh my gosh, you added pink flowers! I'm so happy, pink is my favourite snack!"
~Baby Kay~

"I'm so exhausted, chewing on that stick you installed totally wiped me out!"
~Baby Mickey~

"Love the new flowers, but I'm concerned about this dish... It is tiny and doesn't hold very much food!"
~Neddie~

Don't worry Neddie. There's dishes everywhere, just take the tour and you'll see!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
