Snowflake Wreath of JOY

Hello Everyone!

It's a lazy Sunday today and my big plans are to do some Christmas gift wrapping...I know, hard life right! I prefer to leave the heavy lifting for weekdays, that way I have an excuse to laze around come the weekend.

I thought I would share another Christmas card with you. This one is also on it's way overseas as we speak

I used some of my wonderful new Tim Holtz products to put this card together. The background was coloured with my new Tim Holtz ink sprays Bundled Sage and Pumice Stone as well as some blended ink from the pads. I stamped one of my new Tim Holtz Distress Damask stamps using Ranger Archival ink Watering Can, then splattered some DecoArt White acrylic paint. The corner stamp is from Kaisercraft.

The wreath was cut from Memory Box Frostyville Wreath and coloured with my new Tim Holtz ink spray Shabby Shutters. The holly leaves are from Prickley Pear and the snowflake is Simon Says Stamp.

This wonderful snowy scene with the bird was made from several stamps which I just put together using the masking technique. The bird is from Kaisercraft Porcelain Rose, the branches are from Kaisercraft 13th Hour and the North Pole sign is from TJ Designs. They were stamped using Ranger Archival ink Potting Soil. I coloured the bird with Tim Holtz distress marker Shabby Shutters and then added some snow using my DecoArt Snow Writer.

I got the wooden JOY embellishment from Michaels. I painted it with Picket Fence crackle paint and then antiqued it with Gathered Twigs distress stain. I added some snow using my DecoArt Snow Writer and then sprinkled it with Sparkly Fluff. It's hard to tell in the picture, but all of the snow is actually really soft and fluffy. Excellent for touching!!

I am entering my card into the following wonderful challenges:

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. I read and appreciate every single one! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Wow! "Joy" is the right word for this as its a joy to behold. Your eyes just want to take in everything and its a shame we don't have touchy vision.
Wish I could pull off the vintagey/shabby chic but my efforts would look like an explosion in a Tim Holtz factory lol!
Enjoy your Sunday. . . . . . . .although, I am intrigued by the heavy lifting you do in the week. Are you really a 7ft hairy builder called Crusher? Lol!

  29. Pamellia, What a JOY to see this beautiful card with so many perfectly executed techniques! I love the snow on Joy-looks so real-but I really don't know what real snow looks like anymore, since moving south. The bird is so sweet--a chickadee??? My favorite! You have done such a great job masking--it looks like one stamp! I don't have any of the sprays yet, but you are certainly selling me on them! Now, about this heavy lifting...what???? I'm happy for you to have a lazy Sunday, however just a tad jealous...I've forgotten what they are like! Always enjoy a visit to your blog--it's like a breath of fresh air! Hugs!

  46. Pamellia, have I told you lately how much I treasure your crafty gift?! It's one thing to have talent, but when you have a stunning heart that envisions the most divine creations, that is when magic occurs. :o) This card is pure wintry, festive elegance! The background you stamped is incredible! You masked it to complete perfection to make the loveliest birdie scene. The colored wreath is so beautifully done.. as is that entire cluster. The Joy is crackled brilliance and I am over-the-moon in love with your teeny tiny charm! My friend, I always cherish your creations and the inspiration that abounds... but even more so during trying times. I just wanted you to know that you are actually playing a part in helping me through. :o) Thank you for being YOU!
