Frilly and Funkie - Vintage Halloween

Hello Everyone!

Long time no see!!! I apologize for being missing for so long, life takes some turns, you know how it goes! Thank you to everyone for your kind emails, messages and comments, it sure was amazing to hear from you!! I'm glad to be back in my craft room at long last, and I will slowly be making my rounds to see everyone, but meanwhile, let's have a look at today's project.

It's time for another challenge over at Frilly and Funkie. This time Zoe the hostess and she has chosen the theme "A VERY VINTAGE HALLOWEEN". She would like you to get your witches hats on and create a project in a vintage style with a Halloween theme. One lucky winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Linda's shop The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

A special thank you to my very sweet and talented friend Sara Barker of sarascloset for sending me some stamped images from the Tim Holtz Mini Halloween stamp set. They fit so perfectly into my design! This stamp set is available at Linda's shop, you will find the link at the bottom of the post.

Be sure to come back on Saturday for my Step by Step on how to create this Halloween card, including my technique on the faux granite background!!

All of the following products that I used can be purchased at The Funkie Junkie Boutique

The last time I posted, I was sharing my tales of my visits to The Shire. I got to spend quite a lot of time out there this past month, I am really excited about how things are going. The squirrels are getting quite used to me and I have even had some bird and rabbit visitors.

Do you remember last winter I stumbled upon a blonde squirrel and named him MR BON JOVI? Well I have found his territory and I try to visit him as often as I can. Right now he has on his gorgeous summer caramel coat and has just started his molting!

Have you ever seen a photograph of a bug's eyeball and thought, how the heck did they get that close to a bug?? Well a macro lens, that's how, and I have decided to add macrophotography to my list of hobbies. My hubby picked me up the required equipment a couple of weeks ago and I was raring to get started. Now the trick is finding things that are so tiny (and are NOT bugs), that you can still tell what it is when your zoomed in like a billion percent.

So here is my first successful macro. This mushroom was about an inch tall. So freaking cool and I'm only using the lowest settings!

Back on the home front MR SCRUFF is up to old tricks and still making me laugh every single day! It's that time of year and he is busy foraging for the coming winter. Guess I how know that!!! lol

I'm making new friends and feeling pretty darned honoured that these amazing creatures trust me enough to eat out of my hand!

One last thing for today and that is to introduce you to the newest member of the Johnson Family. Everyone say hello to NEMO, my sweet little Siberian Long Haired Hamster, whom I just adore!!

That's it for today. Thank you for stopping in and for all the amazing comments. If you have any questions or interesting tidbits about today's wildlife, please let me know.
